Grupo Empresarial Costa is continuing with its expansion and vertical integration plan with the addition of Embutidos La Nuncia to its meat holding company Costa Food Group.

The sale went through on 30 July, for which financial and legal assistance was provided by CaixaBank and Ontier Abogados for the seller and Artia Consultoría and Cuatrecasas for the buyer.

Costa Food Group continues to take strides in consolidating all the fresh and processed meat categories (both pork and the ‘Ibericos’) within the company portfolio. It adds fresh and part-processed products to the current range of cooked and cured products and hams sold under the Casademont and Villar trademarks.

This move has followed on from the recent expansion of Costa Food Meat, through the purchase of the Cárnicas Solá (Gurb, Barcelona) production centre, whose a processing capacity of 75,000 tons of meat/year will enable the group to access new export markets, particularly in Asia.
